NZ Lottery Grants Board
Keeping families close when they need it the most
The NZ Lottery Grants Board are true House Heroes, providing Ronald McDonald House South Island $40,000 in funding towards operating costs for the Christchurch House and Ronald McDonald Family Room, Southland Hospital.
Ronald McDonald House South Island CEO Mandy Kennedy says the charity is thrilled to receive the grant, which will make a huge difference for hundreds of families during what is often described as the toughest period of their lives.
“Families are never charged for their stay at Ronald McDonald House South Island, because we recognise that life and its associated costs continue despite their personal and challenging journey,” says Mandy.
In the words of one parent, “Not having the burden of mounting hotel expenses was a huge relief, especially being off work for such a long time.”
“We have an incredible team that support these families and keep the House running 365 days a year,” Mandy says.
“We are so grateful to the NZ Lottery Grants Board for this funding as it means we can continue to provide heartfelt support as soon as families walk through our front door, at a time when they need it the most.”
