Then and now:

Jock reaches all his milestones

Despite a Pleasant Point bub’s early arrival, his parents are proud to see their precious boy go from strength to strength.

Parents Tugela and Lyndon were in a state of shock when Jock was born at just over 27 weeks last January, weighing a tiny 1.1kg.

The couple were in Te Anau for a wedding before Tugela was rushed to Dunedin Hospital where she gave birth to Jock just half an hour later.

They were then flown to Christchurch Hospital where Jock underwent his first of many surgeries.

Pleasant Point bub Jock Anderson was born 27 weeks early weighing in at just 1.1kg. He recently celebrated his first birthday and his parents are delighted with his progress.

Today, Tugela and Lyndon are absolutely besotted with their now 1-year-old battler – who has reached all his milestones despite a rough start to life.

First-time mum Tugela says she doesn’t know where they would be without the support of our Christchurch House, which became their ‘home away from home’ for 86 nights.

“I guess we could have stayed with friends, but it was amazing to be so close to the hospital – we were overwhelmed by the amazing facilities and everything that was on offer to us.”

Jock recently celebrated his first birthday, and we are thrilled to see him growing so big and strong!
