SBS Bank: What's your why?
SBS Bank Chief Executive Mark McLean explains why they chose Ronald McDonald House as a charity of choice to support.
SBS Bank is proud to be a Ronald McDonald House South Island sponsor, supporting its valuable work to provide accommodation for families with children in hospital.
With Ronald McDonald House South Island offering more than 1,200 families across New Zealand a home-away-from-home, we’re proud that we’re able to contribute to supporting those families in need at an extremely difficult time in their lives.
SBS Bank is pleased to support this great service by funding a room in the Ronald McDonald House Christchurch as well as a room and a car for the Ronald McDonald House team at Southland Hospital, Invercargill.
SBS Chief Executive Mark McLean says Ronald McDonald House is aligned with the SBS values and purpose of making a difference in the community.
“SBS was founded in Southland in 1869 on the concept of home ownership and doing what’s right for our communities, and more than 150 years later we still hold fast to those roots and our belief that banking is all about putting people first.
“As a member-owned New Zealand bank, our members are at the heart of everything we do, and many of our members and their families have needed the support of Ronald McDonald House.
“The team do an amazing job of taking care of practical things such as a providing a place to sleep near the hospital, and meals, so families can focus on their child at that time.
“Ronald McDonald House South Island is much more than a sponsorship for SBS. We very much see the team as part of our wider SBS family and we are right behind them as they make an important difference for children and their families in our Southland region and across New Zealand.”
