Southland Spirit March 2020: Helen's Corner
Ronald McDonald Family Room, Southland Hospital's supervisor Helen Walker provides an update on what's been happening in Invercargill
What an exciting start to 2020! The Ray White Invercargill Home and Garden Tour raising funds for the Ronald McDonald Family Room, Southland Hospital was held a few weeks ago after many months of planning with the team from Ray White Invercargill. The team did a fabulous job, raising an incredible $98,000 for the Family Room. Proceeds will enable the Family Room to continue and grow its support to families who have a child in the Neo-Natal Unit and Children’s Ward
The last Home and Garden Tour was back in 2014, and was such a success, Ray White Invercargill decided to make it happen again this year. We are most grateful to the Ray White Invercargill Team for all their hard work. What a fabulous day and the support for the event from the community was amazing.
Supper Club is back! In 2018 the inaugural Invercargill event was held. This small but perfectly formed event was such a roaring success that we increased our table numbers and did it again in 2019, and guess what? Look out for Supper Club 2020 on Friday, 27 March. It’s going to be a night to remember!
Join the Team
Care for the Family Room is largely undertaken by a team of volunteers who come in regularly to help clean and tidy up. We are looking for new volunteers who may have an hour or two to spare to give us a hand. To find out more, please contact Helen at [email protected]
Calling all Budding Chefs!
We’re looking for people who could lend a hand to make home-cooked meals for families staying at the Family Room. If this sounds like you, please contact Helen at [email protected] for more information.
