Trustpower: What's your why?
Brigette Horgan, Community & Communications Advisor shares why Trustpower supports Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald House South Island has been part of the Trustpower whānau for many years now and we are proud to support the valuable work it does. The support they provide to families as they face challenging times with children in hospital is so important to our communities. We also recognise the resource it takes to achieve this type of support, and the care and compassion provided by the team.
Trustpower are honoured to have the opportunity to sponsor a room at Ronald McDOnald House facilities in both the Invercargill and Christchurch. In doing so we help them providing a home-away-from-home for whānau of children receiving hospital care. We are also proud to subsidise energy costs for the Christchurch House – because we know every dollar matters when it comes to keeping families together.
The room sponsorship provides a special opportunity to become part of a family’s journey and we love learning about some of the families that stay in the rooms we sponsor. These sponsorships really give our people a sense of pride – it’s very gratifying to know we support so many people to stay at Ronald McDonald House. Our aim is for all our people, from team members through to our customers and partner organisations, to be proud to be part of the Trustpower story, and our partnership with Ronald McDonald House plays a great part in this.
