How you can help

Being away from home at Christmas can be a challenging time.  That’s why we, with the help of many generous donors and sponsors, go all out to make each Christmas a special season for the families staying with us.

There are several ways you can help this Christmas:

You can ensure families get a Christmas gift they’ll never forget by sponsoring a beautiful, festive wreath.

For $500, you will cover the cost of two nights’ accommodation, a Christmas feast, and a visit from Santa for a family staying at the Ronald McDonald House South Island in Christchurch or at the Family Room, Southland Hospital.

Your festive wreath will go on display around the House along with your name, to be seen by all of the families and visitors.

Every year we receive many generous donations of Christmas gifts for our families.  This year, Santa’s sleigh is well stocked for some gifts but in need of a top up in others.
Would you like to make Christmas a special time for those who can’t be home this year? We could really use some of these:
  • Gift cards ($10, $20, $25) for families such as gift cards for The Warehouse, Prezzy Card, Supermarket, Movies etc.
  • Gifts for teenagers, Mums and Dads
  • Ronald McDonald Family Room Southland Hospital is also in need of gifts for young babies

If you’re giving the gifts in Christchurch, please bring these to 33 Cashel Street in Christchurch, any day (including weekends) between 9am and 5pm.

To be given to families during the Christmas party, please ensure they arrive at the House by 4th December.

If you’re giving the gifts in Invercargill for Ronald McDonald Family Room Southland Hospital, please bring them Via The Children’s Ward to the Family Room any weekday between 9am and 5pm. Please drop off any gifts before 20th December.

Thank you for your generosity and kindness, in making sure the whanau staying with us are well looked after at this tough period. Your kindness is so appreciated.
