Jock Muir, Chairman

Jock Muir has been a trustee since 2014 and is enormously proud of the valuable work undertaken by Ronald McDonald House South Island.

“As the newly appointed Chair of the Ronald McDonald House South Island Board of Trustees, it’s a delight to continue serving the families of New Zealand in this way. I started on the Board in 2014 as the Canterbury District Health Board representative, and became an independent Trustee in 2018. I have worked in the health sector and taken directorships in both the private and not-for-profit healthcare sector for many years, simply because I care about people. This role is special because what we do coincides so closely with my person values, and every day, the House is meeting an essential need. It’s a joy and a privilege to work with such an honest, effective, financially disciplined and respectful board, and I’m looking forward to my new term as Chair.”

Jock has a passion for healthcare governance and management, as well as working with charities. He is a shareholder and director in a number of health related businesses including Heart Centre @ St George’s Hospital and The Neuro Sciences Centre Ltd, as well as being a founding trustee on the Maia Health Foundation and a board member of The New Zealand Flying Doctor Trust.
